Light: Full sun
Water: Water daily right after transplanting, then reduce watering to allow root systems to develop deeply, prevent disease, and for sweeter flavored fruits. Water at the base of the plant, avoid getting water on foliage.
Hardiness: Summer crop, extremely frost intolerant, plant well after last chance of frost
Spacing: 1- 2' between plants, 2' between rows
Days to maturity: 75- 80
Soil notes: Rich garden soil, compost amendment beneficial, avoid fertilizing until roots systems are strongly established.
Fruit: Yellow-gold, pear-shaped smallish fruits, extremely sweet, high yield.
Notes: Indeterminate variety, require staking or trellising, and regular suckering. Popular heirloom variety first documented in North America in 1825.
