Culture notes: Biennial medicinal herb, with large fuzzy gray-green leaves and bluish, purplish flowers late spring through midsummer. The essential oil of the plant has a strong fragrance said to have a soothing quality. The plant has a long history of many herbal uses. Sow in spring. Barely cover seed with soil and tamp firmly. Germination in 10-14 days.
