Water: Water daily right after transplanting, then reduce watering to allow root systems to develop deeply, prevent disease, and for sweeter flavored fruits. Water at the base of the plant, avoid getting water on foliage.
Hardiness: Summer crop, extremely frost intolerant, plant well after last chance of frost
Spacing: 1- 2' between plants, 2' between rows

Soil notes: Rich garden soil, compost amendment beneficial, avoid fertilizing until roots systems are strongly established
Fruit: Vermillion red, small, apple-shaped
Notes: Indeterminate variety, require staking or trellising, and regular suckering. Documented in North america in 1793, brought by Creole refugees who fled the successful uprising of enslaved people in Haiti.
