Robert G Smith is Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a neurobiologist and for the last 3 decades has studied signal processing in the neural circuitry of the retina. He has a hobby of photography and enjoys taking landscape photos of nature. His family origins are the early Quakers that came to Pennsylvania with William Penn, and he is a distant relative of the Bartram family. He enjoys the historic and varied plant life of Bartram's Garden. He has donated these photographs of natural scenes at Bartram’s Garden for the benefit of the Bartram’s Garden Store.
