Culture notes: Annual plant grows to 6’. Pale yellow flowers with burgundy centers and maple-shaped leaves. Sun to part shade in rich soil. Documented in Philadelphia as early as 1806, from East India. Used in Japan and Korea in traditional paper making crafts. Sow seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost, at 70°F.
